And let your mind be free as you inhale this episode, this is Haven exchange number 56. All about drugs? This is the Haven exchange? Why? The gym? Down the stairs? leg day? No leg day two days ago. Hey man like days awesome. Why does everybody hate leg day? Cuz you can barely fucking walk. Legs are like noodles. Does that the only reason you do leg day and tell me how you feel? Yeah, I'm trying to get to the bottom this because like, on other days, you're the rest of your body is going to be feeling the same way. Right? Yeah, but you don't use your legs. I mean, you don't use other parts of your body as much as your legs. Unless you work from home and sit at a desk all day. Like leg day is probably going to be okay for me is what you're telling me? When you're working? You still got a pool and all this other stuff. Where is that? How long do you go between getting up? Like? None of that? I mean, that's funny. No, when you sit down to start your day for work, when's the next time you get up? Is it like hours in between? Or is it like no, I get up a lot because usually you go make coffee or I gotta take the dog out. Yes. Beat me. Me. Yeah, me eats lunch, eat some pre lunch. Second called secondary second dinner. Breakfast. So I'm up and down a lot and poo poo. There's, do you torpedo it out so you can get back to work? No, I like to use a very enjoy. Tic Tac tock pues Have you read a tick tock poo? Oh, of course. No, of course. Tick tock. Tick tock. In and out of the bathroom. Because you have zero modern day apps of entertainment. You just go now. I don't want to be in there. I'm in and out. Not wasting time. We got other things to do. Where do you do your best thinking it? Where do you really ponder life choices? And is it Novolin? Toilet? No. I mean, me either. What are you thinking? Do I have some of the best off because it's like, you can't do anything but sit there. Like there's nothing else to focus on. So you might as well figure out what your next move is gonna be and do something. I'm not making life decisions. I'm certainly not man. It's like, you know how you're supposed to jerk off before you go on a big date with a girl to kind of clean the pipes out and have the brain clear. It's kind of it's kind of the same thing, right? Same thing. Same thing. Oh, it's a valid strategy though. I do. I do think that's a valid strategy. Like I turn the brain off until the toilet and then the whole jerking off before you go on a big date thing is through the catch 22 Because if that note is good enough, you might not even want to go on a date anymore. That is sure Oh, that's Yeah, but I could also make you like smoother and like, you know, just makes you not care about her bullshit. Right? Not really. Your penis isn't thinking for you at this. Yeah, but yeah, but your penis comes into play because you need him to make you make whatever the fuck she's saying sound interesting. Now that motherfucker is an idiot. I don't want him making any decisions. You guys are like oh, so global warming. Yeah, tell me more about it. No, I don't give a shit about global warming. They say like oh, that's your second brain talking about motherfucker don't have a brain dump. That is funny. You guys a while I want to record this show that I do not share the same things that they've said. You just I'm talking about ignoring women and when they said all that shit about bras going back in the kitchen or something like I had nothing to do it. Whoa, nobody said anything about that. Can be SP added all that in all So Rick is a stinker thinker. And they predate masturbator let me get one. Okay, what was you know? That one needs to be on the record. No, no, no, I am going to ask you fuck both y'all. So are you telling me you've never done that before going on a date? Nope. Really? I haven't been on a date. And since the early 70s 77 I always knew you were 67 Oh, is that what you keep saying? 48. year I was born. I thought it was 1948 is that's after bitch. That's after? No your fucking history. Right. You were born in 1948 Yeah. What do you do we go to the moon 1967 No, you'd never watched Even Steven says if you did, you would know this. I didn't watch you and Steven. We went to the moon in 1969. Nine was that Shaya? Shi'a and I forget what her name was. Miranda Carrasco COSCO knew no one. Even Stevens came like after my like, it's when I like, quote grew up from you thought you were too cool. Yeah, that was too cool. Yeah, I think it was funny. Bob came out, you know? I just never liked SpongeBob person, Jimmy Neutron Fairly Oddparents I fuck with them. About Rick like Spongebob he seems like Well, first of all, first of all, first of all, you were like 21 SpongeBob came out? Oh, yeah. Like a year? What do you mean? I felt like, I felt like 40 No. I'm younger, but like two years, I think two or three years. He was born in the 90s stage. Now. Eight years. Three years younger. Yeah, so when SpongeBob came out for me, I was like 12 Maybe? 13? What type of math are you doing? How was how are we? 21 SpongeBob came out for us. But you were 12 Why don't you do that? No, there's no there's no math. The joke is you two are ancient. That's the joke. There's not to be 34 How you will talk about me? You don't know my birthday. So that's why I'm gonna let that slide. A lot of things that just get better when you let it ferment though so like being an ancient school with me. I'm fucking immortal. Are you? Boiler alert? Because I'm immortal. It's so easy, man. It's so easy to make the comparison between you and someone in history. You keep just keep giving me these little nuggets me talking about Welcome to The Haven exchange podcast everyone. My name is Genesis, bringing you another weekly podcast weekly podcast podcast who I like smooth transition, joined by my co hosts here. Dunker and Rue you Dunker and roof Dunker and roof I don't even know that just random. Are you just talking about the old like fucking food Dunkaroos like that that old? saying, Yeah, Dunker brew then. Yeah, you're room. I don't know which one is good or bad. So I'm just gonna take it as a sign of disrespect once your mouth. Mouth is watched? Well, my goodness. Yeah. So we got an interesting topic for you guys. Today. What are we talking about? Over here, sage? I'm talking about why the strat snozzberries taste like snozzberries. So you had one? I feel like you have a story with that. Deaf couple stories? Yeah, I believe we're talking about out of body experiences. That was self induced, self induced out of body experiences. Hey, drugs. Let's go make it sound like it's such like, positive thing. I think there needs to be a little bit more of a neutral way to describe it. I mean, why does it have to be a negative thing? Why does it have you not seen the crack crack epidemic? We were we grew up in that. Derek didn't. All drugs are bad. No, they're not. I mean, if we're being honest, liquor is illegal drug. So all it is. Now I'm saying are you constituting a drug then? are you defining that as something that alters the state of mind then altered state of mind alcohol does that and has addictive personality as addictive? What's the word I'm looking for? Is it just addictive? As you take another sip of alcohol? Yeah, I don't know if I put alcohol in the same boat. Alcoholism is a thing. So why I mean, there's AAA for alcohol. So why not? We'll put it in it's 100% of drug. Well, there's either like Overeaters Anonymous too. Yeah, those people have mental health mental issues. But some, some fucking some foods can be classified as drugs. They did a study that showed that she does not know cheese. Yeah, cheese activates the same part of the same pleasure centers of the brain. That serotonin now that will be what released? That's the enzyme that releases that's not in inbound. What we're talking about drugs on this episode, I guess, kind of going over what our experiences are with them. And just kind of talk about drugs in general. I'm actually really curious because Rick grew up in a very religious household. He played sports. I feel like this is, you know, similar conversation about movies where you just don't have any idea about this subject. I've been thinking man, his name used to be Nichols. He was on corners. So I've been thinking about this topic. About nickel bags. Oh, my God. No, because so I've been thinking about how do I approach this topic, where I explained my experiences with drugs, but then also Emily listens to this, right? Well, no, not necessarily that not necessarily my experiences. Personally, I'm talking about my experiences, being around people who have done drugs. How do I talk about my experience without, you know, going too far and saying things that I probably shouldn't put out there? Right. I mean, I want to hear about your experience on drugs. I don't care about your experience around people. Well, no, but I'm saying no, but I'm saying like, so I have an extremely limited knowledge about drugs, right. I have only done weed and shrooms that that is it. That's what we want to hear about. He did Matt the other day. Don't let him lie to you. And shrooms was probably this was 2015 I think yeah. 20. That was the first drug you did? Well, so I smoked weed for the first time back in 2007. He remembers the year. Yeah, what happened to be the same year I met Jody. And it was she's the one that introduced me to it in the first place. 2007 How old are you paint the picture for me what's going on? So in 2007, I would be 19 and I was coming back from a date. And she was basically saying, hey, you know, I got some weed. You want to try some? And I was like, I've never done it before. So we sat in the car. We smoked of course the very first time I took way too big of a hit. almost killed myself. Just coughing up along. Okay, let me pause pause. Pause. So what was your expectations of weed going into this? Were you against it? Curious, generally speaking, or were you trying to impress her being that you guys weren't coming off of a date? It was mainly, it wasn't necessarily trying to impress her because I was honest that I had never done it before. I didn't want to seem like oh, yeah, I do it all the time, you know, but I was curious about it. You know, I've always kind of been pro legal weed, like, let people do what they want, for the most part. Well, back then, like, that wasn't even on the horizon for that to be something legalized. I'm wondering if you're a little like afraid that you're gonna get busted and go to jail? Like, or if you were just cool. No, you know, I wasn't worried about that too much only because, I don't know. I just don't worry about that kind of stuff. Just because I didn't think it was going to matter. At the time I lived maybe a mile away from her house. No, I did have to cross a police station to get home. But I wasn't worried about I'm like, Oh, it's a straight shot to the crib. I'll be fine. But as far as wanting to try it, I was kind of always indifferent on it. Because I don't really like too many things that can alter the mind. I want to be 100% in control of my thoughts, I guess you could say, right. So I just never cared to dry and then last week, she asked me that I want to try to say you know if I fuck it. Actually, to this day, I still haven't tried edibles or anything like that. The only time you smoke weed? No, I spoke a second time before that as well. Okay. So in total, I've smoked twice. She's alright. So did you get high that first time because everybody always talks about it and you get high the first time I smoked. No, I did not get high either. Their time neither. No. I thought maybe I just was doing it wrong, or I didn't do it enough. So then I was just like, and but then I'll be honest with you. When I tried shrooms for the first time. I had a handful of the shrooms did not feel it. Didn't feel anything. So just because he didn't want to. I mean, I don't know if I mean I'm thinking I just didn't take enough No, you didn't want to you didn't get out of your own way. Oh, you say I stopped it from doing some Shall we to I don't know about the week but I know the mushrooms but are you saying if I would have like opened my mind and kind of stuff you just relax. Just relax and stop thinking about even you would have got there because your shows is one of the one drugs that in this way like it like let's say we all took mushrooms and I came down before Yeah, if I'm still if y'all are still up there and I'm looking around still trying to be if I want to be back there I can get myself back there. Now what I do want to try Kara with no, God no. Well, we'll get to what our wants are I want to know about our first experiences a little bit. So the three times you have taken drugs you've never felt anything different. No, no. Well, the first time I maybe this is a little different. But the first time after we smoked we went in and murdered a whole pan of baked macaroni and cheese. It's I don't know if that had something to do with that. That probably could have been the placebo of a Cohen smoking oregano and even portobello mushrooms. This is one of our Chicago pizza. Like I'm doing smoking weed and eating mushrooms. I mean that mac and cheese was heavenly. I do remember I do remember it being the best bag of cheese I've ever had in my life. Do you remember what you smoked? Like? Was it a joint? Was it a bowl was it? It was a joint? Yeah, I smoked the whole thing. Well, we passed it back and forth. She definitely did more than I did though. Inhale doing it. No, that's why it's called it Wait, I'm gonna need you to go explain that for me in a second. But Clinton it what does that what does that mean? Sorry, are we talking about Monica Lewinsky? No, no, he's talking about don't click night I did not inhale came out saying that yeah, he did smoke weed but he never inhaled No. No, I did inhale that's why I was coughing like that. For the first hit. Because I mean, dude, I felt my lungs were on fire. It was not pleasant at all. The second time was with a was a thing called him I've drawn a blank on it. Describe what it looked like. It looks like a John a huge LEGO. Are you trying to say Bong? Yes, that's what I wanted him to get there on his own. I knew what he was about to look like a big and then stop because I was definitely you hit a bong and you didn't get high. You I don't remember feeling any different bongs you do? You're feeling now the bone, though. That hurt far more than the blood, like as far as my lungs and coughing actually did not. I didn't like that at all. Usually it's a cleaner hid actually, I mean it is a thicker bigger hit, but it's usually because it gets filtered through the water. So the whole purpose of the water in the moment, I think, you know, I think I need to smoke with my brother. I think my brother's the one that will be like, you know, I'll show you how to get high. Or an animal. Yeah. Different height though. It is a different. It's a different high. Yeah. Have you ever heard the stories? Joey Diaz given his friends like extreme doses of edibles? Give him like 1000 milligram brownie and tell him it's 100 milligrams. Cuz he's no, just no. He'll just take them to he'll do a brown nebula here. Try this. Like what is it? Like don't worry about a dog just eat it. But to be fair, the people that Joey Diaz is hanging out with are all like fucking ex meth heads and coke heads. They can handle 1000 milligram brownie or cookie or whatever. And this is a Tuesday for me to have the double weigh here when a guy says What was your first times like? What was it? How when, what where when? Why? For weed goes? Was that your first drug outside of life? Yes. Yeah, as far as we goes. First time was probably at your house. Oh, shit. Yeah. And I didn't get high. Like I did because I was avidly against smoking for majority of my life. He didn't want it to affect your vocal cords. Yeah, so I just never did and first time I did not to this day, I still don't like smoking joints or bones or anything like that. The first time I did it when I actually got high was in college. It was with Ricky and Marty and we went over one of their friend's house so funny you say that I was literally just listening to the rap song him and I made Marty Wait, what? Right yeah, I'm gonna need a copy of that led to him. He's calling I'm talking about Carbondale too, and his rap lyrics. I don't know if you remember this. That song sage. I was like, I listened to that on the way home today. Liquor Store. Why would you put that in your car? You know nostalgia. Just fire. Oh. Yeah. Really? Yeah. Like you to take nine spin or like, I don't want to hear him rap. You don't want Lars bro. Right. Just funny that you brought him up though. Because like, when we were talking about Marty, yeah, no, right. He's a cop now. But really, yeah. But um, they took me to a friend's house I think was like maybe our second week in the day, and we're all hanging out and they get the hook out. They pack the hookah and they just start passing it around. I was like, fuck it. When in Rome. Why not fucking mice we're doing I mean, I'm already in fucking Carbondale doing God knows what. And that was the first time I got high and it felt good. I enjoyed it. The amber by 311 was playing. It's one of my favorites. Do you remember like what you felt? Or like how do you feel when you get wheat? Hi. That from that because that was like one of the only times I've ever get weed her. No, but edible. Hi. I know what it feels like. I think that I got last time I got lead had was at Yeah, Tim's wedding. Oh, yeah. Somebody had like, they had a weak pin. Yeah. And they were like, oh, yeah, this strong. I was like, Ah, it's not that strong. I'll be alright. For two hours, I'm in my shower, washing trying to wash it off. Like come on. Stop. Stop being Hi, now. Just gonna be normal again. That night, I was like, I'm gonna go to sleep. Everything needs to stop. So you didn't enjoy feeling or? I enjoyed it at first, but then it just got intense. Yeah. Hey, I mean, it sounds hilarious, because I want to try it and get to that point where I'm in a different state of mind. So I wanted to do an edible because I feel like that's the easiest way to do it. But I'm also terrified because the people that I'm surrounded with that do this kind of shit are not the nicest people so they'll absolutely give me 100 gram to start off with just go to the store and buy one. Yeah, just I feel like it's worth it. If you're worried about the screen just go buy one no I don't want to go to the dispensary and spend 50 bucks on like a little Cubot brownie yeah but because your tolerance a little bit a little cube of a brown you probably had you had it shipped for like three hours Yeah, yeah, we fucking ready to fly off the roof and shit. You were 19 Getting a fucking dime bag of weed from the Arby's parking lot from fucking Joe Schmo like you don't know what the fuck was in that what grade level that was gonna be was probably some ass anyways. You go to the store now you're like guaranteeing you're gonna give high what's wrong? Oh, you can't sleep I got some for you. Right? You want to feel more body you want to vibe out? It's some Jan's like, what do you what are you in the mood for? Is that select of that? What's crazy about the the marijuana plant is just like how diverse it can be and how they've been able to like breed that what is it? sativa and indica? Yeah, the two like main types that have been bred from there to offer all different kinds of feelings that you want. I think at this point, maybe six months ago now, we had a bunch of people over at my crib and somebody brought over some edibles. And everybody everybody's highest. Matt was there, Matt was high. That's it was an instance last week. But no, everybody was just laughing about stupid shit doesn't mean it's nobody that no one was actually doing anything like one, you know, trying to be dropped knowledge or anything like that. Yeah. But I remember one day, like it was at this point. It's like 233 o'clock in the morning. I'm standing up. And it just a wave just comes rushing over me. And we're all sitting in my kitchen. And I'm just rocking back and forth, just not in compensation. But I remember the whole time my head, I'm like, can you make us get out? I want to sleep the entire time I hit that's all I was thinking. Yeah, so it sounds like you don't really enjoy the experience. No, I do. But sometimes it just needs to go away. Yeah, but again, I'm not. I'm not a weak person like mushrooms. I've never had a bad experience with mushrooms. Yeah, I mean, with weed. What I've noticed, I'll talk about some of my first experiences, but weed in general, like, the more it's like a habitual thing. You don't you rarely get to that level where you're like wanting it to be like it's not as brand new. Sometimes you could smoke a lot. And you'll get to there. But obviously your tolerance goes up and you get into this like zone where it's like, it's just perfect all the time, because you're doing it so much. I think I tried smoking when you were seven. No. So it was only gonna happen on March. I don't want to say I was like 13 or 14 Because I think I started smoking cigarettes at like 14 or 15. Yeah, so maybe smoking weed around that time. And at least trying it. And I think when I tried it the first time, nothing happened as well, which was really strange. And then just like spider man, everybody gets one. You get one and like, oh, that's how you get Yeah. I don't remember the second time or the third or the fourth or the fifth or the sixth. Then I became a pothead. I was a pothead. After the second time, I want to say, but there was times when I would be I would get to that point, like literally afraid that. Am I stuck like this now. I remember walking like over at TJs house out in the trailer parks. And we were walking and we smoked and I just remember like, how long have I been looking down at my feet? How long have we been walking? I don't know what's going on right now. And like it was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. As I don't like this, I'm like, I think I'm fucking dying. I think I'll be stuck like this forever. There's no coming out of this. And I don't remember if I actually told them. Or if I just veered off and set on a swing. And I just was chilling. I was just chilling on the swing set. And just hoping time would go by faster. But that feeling happened a few times throughout like my history of smoking weed, where it would be this wall wall wall wall wall wall wall wall thing and then like at some times it would be it would feel like there was a camera pulling out the backside of my head. And I was like watching myself looped over and over and over and over again. Not as dramatic as that but that's what it kind of like felt like in my memories. Are you sure you were smoking weed? Sounds like it sounds like PCP to me. Because it was only a couple times that that she would get like that. But it was a familiar feeling every time so i don't i don't know maybe. But I think it just got too high. And we got to that level that I think you're talking about. Maybe we felt different things but that's the best sweat, I can describe it like it wasn't exactly like I was seeing the back of my head, but it felt like there was a camera. And I'm like watching myself in real time. I mean, one of the times I ran into my mom's bed while she was like, late at night watching TV and running around and my mom fucking toasty right now, like, I don't like this. And she took care of me and I think I like took a shower. I tried to wash it off me like you said to, like, people are partying in my front room. I'm laying my mom's like, I need to get away from this shit. And then of course, you know, you still smoke but there was there's a lot of things that I had researched because I was curious, like, why is this always happening to me? I remember reading about things like you can react to weed on various things like on something you ate. So it's not like I that especially at a time when I jumped into mom's bed. I this big giant like bacon burger before we smoked and I got to that point. Some like maybe there was something in the food that I ate that caused this weird reaction that I'm not used to when smoking weed. Or like fucking what is the that mushroom soup in like, Japanese restaurants? Was that miso soup? Oh, yeah. Miso soup. Yeah. That should I would have bad reactions to a fight that before smoking weed. I don't know what it was. That's your diet comes into question. I mean, it makes sense. But it is a little weird, though. Yeah. See, like I said, I'm not a weed. Well, I'm I'm starting to like edibles more and more. But it's not something that's something I would do every now and then. I mean, not something I would do every night. But it was yeah, that's that's hard to imagine. Doing that every night. Oh, what was that was saying what Jay was doing them every fucking night. Oh, wow. But mushrooms. Oh, I'm very few and far between when I do mushrooms, when I do is always great. Oh, it's a good time. i The last time I didn't, which was a very long time ago. I remember when I ate way too much I ate by myself which I shouldn't have done. Again, this is also in in Carbondale. Because, you know, that's where bad things happen. It's college town. So you imagine like, yeah, you're gonna be everything's readily available. So, as we go out, we party, we come back, and then that should finally kick in. And everybody's hanging out. And it's only three of us at this point. And I remember just laying in the middle of the floor, and they had like some Eminem playing. And I swear to God, I was onstage with Eminem, rapping the songs little dude. It was crazy. And it was in your head. You were like stuck in your head or like you were seeing this hallucination or something. I don't even know if it's lucid because my eyes were closed. But every part of me was I was on stage. I was there. That's hilarious. I like set up and they're like, Oh, you alive? I can't do it. I'm good. I'm just don't say gentlemen. They like what? Don't worry about I'll go back. Was everybody else taking mushrooms? Actually, yeah, cuz Steve Ed was there. And one of my college boys was there. And they were all doing it. Yeah, they didn't do as much as I do. So like you said, you took an eighth and so Rick said he took about a handful. But there's something with the caps in the stems, right. Cap stems, gold caps. Gold caps are gonna hit a lot harder. Is that a different like species of mushroom? The just the amount of I guess you can say fungus that grows on the fungus. What's the psilocybin inside the fungus itself? That's a your Yeah. But it's actually a fungus. It's a go like goat colored fungus that grows on top of this is why I call it gold cups. I feel like that's like gold flakes and gold sloth. Like it's just plussing it up a little bit and assigned actually anything. It definitely hits a lot different than taking regular. I'm taking regular mushrooms before and those plus mushrooms plus because you've been living a non pampered life. Yeah, that's true. I've been out of the drugs for a long time. Like I quit smoking weed fucking 20 years ago, I took some out edibles. Maybe two years ago when I was in Vegas. I enjoyed that. But mushrooms so how many times have you done mushrooms and sage? Ah, I think three or four and the the m&m experience was that the most intense it's ever been for you. Yeah, every other time. We was cool. The first time we did it was pretty funny. Because also when they do it's me, Marty, Ricky and Brandon. And we watched the same episode of Family Guy for maybe five hours in a row. Same episode on repeat same episode, and it was hilarious every time Was this on purpose? Or was it like on loop somehow? No, we'd nobody just wanted to get up. So we just watched the same one, five hours, it was hilarious. And then we have like this intricate floor pattern in the bathroom. So people would be like, Alright, I got to go to bathroom, get up and go to the bathroom and then they would disappear. Then we like, like an hour go by, and I would have to go go get up and knock on the bathroom, and walk in there and just see somebody just staring at me like, do you experienced this too? No. Yeah, having everybody. What do you what is actually I'm curious about like, what's actually because I've never done mushrooms. And Rick, you never experienced mushrooms? Right? So like, what is it? What are you actually seeing? You're not really seeing anything. It's just, it opens you up. It's a body Hi. And it makes everything from what I gather, because every time I do them, I don't know if it's just me or other people. But what they don't tell you is the top of your head gets warm. You've experienced this too. Yeah. They didn't tell me that. And the first time I did it, I thought somebody was fucking with me and had a light lighter behind my head or something. But the top of your head gets warm. And then once that that's I think that's kind of like the sign of you know, shiplap hit the fan. Because it takes a minute for it to kick in too. Right? Yeah, it takes minutes kick in, but when it kicks in and kicks in, but once it does, it's just the body Hi, everything's funny. The dumbest things when you're you're intrigued by literally everything. Yeah, see, I've always thought of mushrooms as like, the only experience you get as some sort of hallucination. But every time I've been around people who were taking mushrooms, it's always just yeah, the giggle ease and the giggle Yeah, they just everything is fucking funny. But nobody I've known has told me about any sort of hallucination that they've had while on mushrooms. No, I've seen people have bad trips, but I've never elucidate anything. I still remember. We call it the fucking the title like the leafy green. And it wasn't in green when green. Brandon, why why was that a point for you to guys to be stuck on the like, Was there something that we're seeing in the title? Just okay. Like I said, you're intrigued by everything. So it was just intricate shapes and designs. So you just focus on it like, Oh, wow. And you just find yourself in your head? I guess nothing special about it. Do you feel cognitive? Do you like recall everything that's happening? Yeah, I never I never had not known what was going on when I was on shrooms. Like you don't feel like you're not yourself or anything like that. It's like you're you're in the passenger seat, that you can still tell them on the phone to slow down if you need to. Interesting. Yeah, that's so that's so fascinating. And how long is the entire experience in a sentence up to you? Generally speaking, so the a few eight days. That's quite a while. But like I was explaining earlier, like, I've been there before, to where, for the first time I did, um, everybody else took more than I did, because, you know, it was my first time trying them. I didn't want to do that. And then I felt myself coming down, but they were all still just giggling and stuff. So I tried to force myself back back into like conversation and stuff and just laughing at stuff. And then my brain just hit that switch and I was right back there. That's funny. I've thought about trying Truman, you know, just to kind of see what I missed out on that experience on appealing to you to go through because I know you talked about like not wanting to be out of control. It sounds like you're very much in control to some degree and a drug like that. The next day, you're you're also thirsty as fuck. If that's the only like, yeah, you got you 100% have cotton mouth the next morning. Oh my god, like like bad cotton mouth. Your bodies actually hydrate because you got to think about it. It works through your body like a poison. When we get to what we want to try. There is one specific thing that I want to try that kind of completely takes me out or there's two I'm sorry. There are two levels gonna be DMT Of course. Of course. Yeah, we're definitely gonna talk about some DMT and a little bit. Yeah, where's Joe Rogan? But yeah, I wanted to try those because I want to see something that can kind of take me somewhere else. You know, let me see. For spiritual purposes or like something cool. Okay. Like different from like seeing like superheroes on the TV screen like you can be transported to those worlds via video games and shit, but you're up there. Are you making a spiritual connection to some of these drugs? I want to try to see if it happens. See? That's the thing though. And I get what you're saying. Justin, you just made me think about this. There are some things that you want to be high for. Are you talking about like entertainment stuff? Yeah, like entertainment way. So like when Ted came out I 100% should have been watching it the first time because that would have made them that movies already great. That would have made that movie legendary. Did you feel when you were taking mushrooms though? Did you feel like there was any sort of spiritual components to something like that? Because you said like, you allow yourself and you kind of open it up, you're opening up like you're using very spiritual. No, not spiritually, mentally, if anything you can't be can't be in your head. In your head about it. Yeah, it's either not going to work or if it does, you're gonna have a bad trip. You just gotta be willing to take the ride. I've definitely seen like I said, I've seen people have bad trips. My neighbor in Carbondale, he ate some I came over like an hour and a half later, the the space from the door to his steps was maybe two feet. He was just pacing back and forth between like, man, no, this is bad. This has to stop tests that I do. Just go upstairs and go sleep. Like that's, it's always gonna have this go sit and go to sleep. Like, yeah, like so when you have the experience for weed. And you're like, I just need this to be done with. Could you see that same feeling happening with shrooms? If you were having a bad experience? Yeah, you know, it's gonna end or you like afraid that's not going to end? Oh, it's definitely gonna end you just gotta fucking just deal with it. Take a drink some water, getting the pillow close your eyes. Just act like nothing exists. You have to have the mental fortitude to be able to be like, You know what? I need to go. Right and just, I mean, can you are you able to sleep while you're high on mushrooms? Yeah, a lot easier than we are. Muslims have always fascinated me. Especially growing up even though I never even took the motherfucker out I was too afraid I didn't I didn't know what I was going into. I didn't really trust my own mind I guess in taking that I thought I would somehow lead myself astray seeing I get that because like I'm scared to take fucking ecstasy is I'm not allergic to anything. I don't want to find out that's the one thing I am yeah, no hidden right? Yeah. That was what mushrooms was always like it's this natural occurring thing. You know, I don't believe anybody's died from taking mushrooms but I also don't want to end up in like some sort of mental facility because I fucking lost my brain because I'm the one that you can do acid six times before you clinically psychotic. I don't know if this is still true or if this was ever true. But I heard that shit stays in your body like 50 years and your body your brain can tap into that. Wow I don't know that that but I'm pretty sure it probably it probably does. Consider every time you take acid it burns a small hole in your brain. That's why I said after seven times you're clinically psychotic. Well, you get six freebies. I think burning a small hole in your brain is probably not scientifically accurate I don't think it burns a hole in your brain just when you're possible your brain cells and hit the diarrhea this let's see that Brian brain this is your Brian on brains. Brian All right. Now see that now that's there's certain drugs I just won't fuck with right. Cocaine, heroin. Acid. I mean, I get it everybody has their Bice you know something that kind of helps them get through whatever they're going through. But are you lumping sort of synthetic manmade drugs then into Do not mess with category? You're talking to a guy that if I have a headache, I'll just fucking deal with it. I'd rather deal with it than take Tylenol. Unless it's like I'm about to fucking vomit from my head hurt and so much then then I'll be like, No, I'm fine. Fuck it. Alright. Very much the same way as that. Yeah, I'd rather just deal with it because on end and there's so many different side effects. You'll your liver, like take too much what is a Tylenol or aspirin or something like that? does damage to your liver. Kidneys, okay, PCA. Like, why? If like there's way too much reading. I don't feel like reading all of this. But I do want to say though, like I do remember hearing in that exact same two and that's probably like, the things that I remember like, hearing as a kid, like, I don't know how much of that was actually true or things that like scare you away from doing it. Because I mean nowadays, like people are micro dosing LSD like, I don't know if the purity level like maybe things are better now but like, LSD is a hugely I mean, the government did how many fucking crazy trials with using LSD Oh, yeah, you'll you'll actually enjoy this. I mean, can't give it to the, to the masses since this is a podcast. But I just thought a picture of what your they did a study of what the brain looks like when it's activated on LSD. So what we're looking at is basically, if you think of like the MRI scans of a brain where certain parts highlight, you know if you've seen any TV show ever, but LSD is like the entire brain is lit up and activated. Yeah, no, the government was big. And that's where the MK Ultra shit like mind control, they were using LSD to look into mind controlling elements. They said, Charles Manson was part of these trials. And that's why he's like fucking crazy and did the shit that he did. There's a lot of these like cases where like, people become like, quote activated. And they were like part of these crazy LSD trials? And can we not make excuses for people crazy is just crazy. I mean, do you think it's outside the realm of possibility that the government was trying to see what this drug is capable of doing? And how they can use it to any sort of advantage? No, no, that's fine. But at no point, would I be sitting there going back and forth. Like, you know what, I should just go eat a bunch of people. If you're a part of a trial, and they were able to activate you, somehow, through programming via LSD doses, or whatever they were doing, maybe they wanted you to do that. But there is actual like, fucking these reports that got out. Especially like San Francisco and Haight Ashbury were like, you know, all the hippies were hanging out and they would have research studies and getting people high and seeing what they were doing and they got the they would like kidnap guys that were going to these fucking hooker houses and make them a part of these experiences are experiments a lot of crazy shit the government was doing was, was or still is they said that it's not going on anymore, but who fucking knows. So apparently, there was something with LSD though that was important enough for the government to look into. I mean, I'm, I'm sure they did the same thing with most drugs. But LSD has some interesting components to it. But I did want to get back on mushrooms though, because mushrooms are fascinating. from a spiritual perspective. There's even theories that Christianity came out of people who ate mushrooms, mushroom. There's this, I forget the guy's name. He's got this book. It's called the sacred sacred mushroom and the cross I think, gotta ruin everything. What religion? Well, not necessarily because he said that Christianity came from these fertility cults. And they would take they would eat mushrooms. They would open their minds to a God and that's where Jesus and all that came from. So what I'm hearing is Jesus was a dope dealer. Yeah, and you'll you can like there's examples like this is based on his like science. I don't know where that actually leads to. But if you look at a lot of the old art you see mushrooms is very prominent in some of this. Religion. It started that wouldn't be more believable. of Jesus being adobea like turning water to wine. Like no, it's not. Wait, hold on. Eat this first. Right have a handful of you see that bush over there? It's talking to you, right? It's talking to me to the water. No, he know what you're looking at here. Try these. But mushrooms are fucking fascinating. Like if you know there's a documentary on Netflix fucking for I just watched it the other day. But mushrooms are fast and today like literally like a week ago, a new report came out. That is showing that mushrooms can have a vocabulary of up to 50 words. This is like new research that they just like came out with like, the actual mushroom itself. So the the way mushrooms work the mushroom that you see you know the cap and the stuff that is like it's basically it's temporary sex Oregon, that sprouts from the mycelial which is underground. they sprout the actual mushroom that releases the spores to basically reproduce and grow more mycelial which is this underground network of ship. It's fungus. But fucking fungus fungi The mycelium should like this shit is fucking crazy. I'm telling you guys look into this because like the fungus the fucking that gets into the the bugs and the ants that make them like climb all the way up to the top of the tree and then die so that it can get the most exposure of releasing its spores out. Yeah, like it can tap into another creatures nervous system to control it. It sounds like a terrible M Night Shyamalan movie. Not in fact, I'm pretty sure he made this movie. Oh, the happening? Yeah. Well, even that's not to ludicrous to think about because the trees they show can tap into this mycelial network and be able to control resources between its forests, basically. So like if a tree over here a mile down, and they're all connected through this mycelial network is dying. Due to a lack of resource the other trees will know this and will send resources over to a tree like literal science. It's fucking crazy. Mushrooms are intense, man. I wish y'all could see the smile on his face right now. I think the nerd and him have just got Yeah, for real. He has like a spreadsheet. His books? Tell me that's not. That's not a level of intelligence, though. For me, it is that it is level intelligence. But at the same time, they're also delicious. Oh, my burger. That's fine to say that because they don't have a nervous system. So they don't feel pain or anything. Like, I will make them feel it. But like, why would they? Why would they have also think about this? Why would they have this trait about them to make you feel giggly? Or you know, see things open your mind? In some cases? Like why would they have that? A terrible protective instinct? Expand on that. The instead of the enzyme making us not want to eat them? It's making us want to eat them is supposed to be their protective thing. Like oh, like, ah, no good. Wait, wait a minute. Oh, well, that's funny. So like through evolution, they're like, man, we were supposed to produce poison, so they die. Now we're just getting them happy. Like, whose plan was this? But there could be imagine like fucking old school like cavemen or something like kind of like, maybe that's how we came about, like even thinking of fire. Maybe they like helped. Sparring are like evolution? Well, it's funny you say that? I mean, I didn't read it. Because it was sounded a little bit, I guess biblical to me. But they were saying there was an article saying that scientists have found that all of humanity could have possibly stem from to people 200,000 years ago. Like, it's possible to say no, no, no, no, they've like decoding genetics and doing all that shit that I was way over my paygrade Yeah, but I'm thinking like two people fuck, and then they have kids. See? That's crazy. But these, according to them, these two people weren't a couple. These two people lived years apart from each other. But I'm like, what? Yeah, it didn't make it didn't make a whole lot of sense. And I was like, No, I'm not wasting my time reading this article. Yeah. Well, I will say fungus is the the oldest known thing after like, the single celled like, organisms that were that were living in the oceans and shit. Yeah. So mushrooms Let's go baby. That we know about to be me having experienced all of the ocean, and we need to keep it that way. Yeah, keep that shit down. Don't ever stay the fuck down. Yeah, we'll keep her leadership right down. You guys don't want to know. No, I don't know. What if it's like some Gears of War locusts shit where like, you fuck with it, and it's like, oh, yeah, you will come on. Like fucking poke his butthole like, we can observe some things though. Now. Let sleeping dogs lie. Yeah, you don't go into a bear's cave was hibernating. And we like hey, what's going on here? Yeah, we know we don't know what that is the mushroom? I bet you will know buddy. Know where you're gonna get is if like, down there. It's like the cure for cancer and AIDS or some shit like that. Like are good on it. Check it out. Man, it's rough. But if you're just going on there for your curiosity, no, stay down there if you go to well, if you were a heroin addict, and there was some dope man yeah, if you're an addict, yeah, sure. Okay, So Rick, you've only you've done We did mushrooms I've only done I've only smoke weed and hash if you want to include that as something different. Which I don't even know if hash. Do people even still smoke hash these days? Like, like, that's an No, I don't think so. Sage so you've only taken mushrooms and smoked weed, or was there another drug you've done? Um, I've gotten higher oxygen before. But that was legal before back in the oxygen bars, right that you did. late, late 90s, early 2000s. I was leaving. And then I got inadvertently high at the dentist one time. Oh, from like, laughing gas. Yeah, from laughing gas. And I had to tell him turn that shit off. Because I'm sitting in the chair while he's doing the work and he's playing a song. And I just started to hear the song go. I'm like, that's not how it's supposed to sound. Right. Wait a minute. You're out in the room? And he didn't No, no, he added the part on my nose and just had it on. And just had me fucking just getting blasted. Was it funny? No, because I'm like, this should not be happening right now. I'm afraid of that. I'm afraid I'm fucking laughing gas or like the shit that knocks you out. I've seen too many of them videos. See, I when I went to the dentist in 2020 I said, they were like, Oh, we're gonna have to do this to get the work started on your teeth. And I was like, Dude, I don't want to feel anything. put me under knock me out. Hit me upside my head, whatever you get out to do to get me out of here. So I don't feel that shit was given how you don't even want to take Tylenol? Well, if it puts me to sleep, I don't give a shit. You know, like, if I'm just gonna go to sleep, whatever. I don't know about the before and after the sleep session what you wake up butthole a little puckered up and the fact that that's what happens right? When you go to the dentist, you wake up, your lower back is sore. And there's a direct connection between your incisors and your anus. Mommy, I did get I don't know if you can call this Hi. I can the way that I was acting, I can say I was high. It's called conscious sedation. FUCK IS THAT? Yeah. So it was back my shoulder was still fucked up. So my shoulder was dislocated and it was popped out and I couldn't get back in myself. So I had to go to the doctor. I get there. And guys, like, oh, have you ever had a martini? I was like, yeah, like, like, alright, he comes to him. And he just pumps something in my arm. And I went from not being able to move my arm just sitting there talking about just getting just I can feel me being loopy, but just rambling about nothing this and then next thing I know, I'm moving my fucking arm. And I was like, what? And my mom was like, Yeah, you didn't see them just like grab you and like jerk your arm and put it back in place and like people were touching me. He's a hell. They call it a conscious sedation. Yeah, conscious sedation. Hmm, I've never heard of that. It's basically like you're awake but sedated? Yeah, that sounds scary. Oh, yeah. No shit. Sounds really scary to Guy roofie Yeah, well, I'm not sure if they do it now. But they can't squat is that that Twilight? Know if they do still do it is very heavily regulated. Because I think a couple years after mine, some dentists tried to do it with some girl. She died. She doubted she that's that sucks man. Like I can just imagine says conscious sedation is a combination of medicines to help you relax a sedative and to black pain and an aesthetic during a medical or dental procedure. You probably stay awake but may not be able to speak no speaking I wish I would notice. Wait so like you see those videos when people get their wisdom teeth pulled out and they were like on the gas I think are coming out of the gas and all loopy is that kind of what you were. Don't see. No, that was the crazy part. The second they put my shoulder back in. And they stopped whatever they were pumping. I was fine. No hangover. No nothing. It was like it was like it was like nothing happened. Oh, weird. So Kurt was telling me about he's he's what do you call them Paul Blart of hospitals and fucking crazy and he gets the the like the like heroin junkies in and they have to get them out of it right away so they use this Narcan or whatever. Yeah, that sounds like like there's some way to instantly just like not knocked them out of that, which I've never heard of before. If I was a heroin dealer, I would be selling those as well. Whoever Get Out of Jail Free card like those would be selling like hotcakes. That is, that's probably super broken regulators that somebody you can just get on the street. Right? Right. They should put it on the street, right? They flood the streets with heroin and cocaine, but not this Narcan. Shit. They'll put it on the street and then somebody figured out a way to abuse it. I mean, look, if fucking cold medicine you got to, you have to pretty much pass a background test just to buy some fucking cold medicine. Yeah, because motherfuckers all of a sudden became chemists and knew how to like manipulate the shed. I agree with that. With those. No, no, no, that's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying that out. Like, last one episode of Breaking Bad now, I can't decode Yeah, it's kind of interesting that we've seen crack sort of take over the world. And now we see like meth in and heroin, taking over the shit and the the heroin show. It's kind of interesting how that happened with the over prescription of doctors and pain medication. And then they stopped and then nobody knew what the fuck to do. So they started buying heroin. And that because they didn't think they would like quite loot. Yeah, they used to prescribe those and they just stopped those altogether. I'm surprised even knew that. Well, that's another thing I want to do. Now we could talk about this Rick is like the things that we would want to try. Given that there would be 0% chance to get addicted to it and be 100% safe. What would you try? What is not hypothetical? If I live to 70? I'm 100% trying heroin I mean, at that point, what at that point what I got to lose? I mean, 70 is still pretty young. Can you give it like maybe go to 90 definitely what I got to lose, it was like he lived it. He lived you live a little life stuck in geriatric dig for some more though. Speaking of heroin, have you either have you ever read or seen any studies by Dr. Carl Hart? I think his name is it doesn't sound familiar. He was on the Breakfast Club not too long ago where he was trying to say that he actually does cocaine like regularly. Right. And Hollywood does. But he's saying that like, he thinks that this particular drug, I think it was cocaine. But he said that. He thinks that that should be recreational you should be legal. He thinks that if you can use a certain amount, and kind of careful and safe with it. You could be a functioning person with it. You know about cocaine, or heroin. I believe it was cocaine. Let me pull it up for sure. But like all drugs, if you're able to do these in moderation, you probably be okay. But they get so intense and take over your body. That's when it becomes a real health risk. Yeah, he says decriminalizing crack cocaine, crack, crack, okay. But in his defense, in his defense, he is a no, he is a psychologist and a neuroscientist. Who does research on recreational drug use and drug like reason for the recreational use of it. Like we would have been fine with the cocaine part. But Crack. Crack is basically cocaine just it's smoked, right? Instead of like, cook it cooked with bacon is cooked a little different, right? Yeah, it's actually rocks. It's not it's not a powder. Yeah. The way that they cook, it makes it way more addictive. This is all this guy's got? You agree with him? Right? No, because I personally have seen what drug addiction does to people. And it is not. It is not good at all. One thing he said though, real quick, one thing he did say that through his research. He did come to realize that crime and poverty were mostly independent of drug use, meaning crime and poverty were not connected necessarily to drug use, which I think is patently false, because I feel that like most of the people that are homeless right now, it's usually either mental illness or some some form of drug abuse that I would agree with, but that's not what he said, though. He didn't he didn't link homelessness. He said, poverty. Poverty is kind of like less I feel like this kind of connecting. Because I mean, you look around you go to any dilapidated area, where you know, poverty is really high, nine times out of 10. It's all the motherfuckers. And there's needles and syringes and chips everywhere. And do you think there's a 5050 split between those selling drugs? And then those actually getting high off the drugs? Oh no, that 5050 I would say maybe 7030 You know, a couple of people maybe watch Scarface. That's the only way I can see him justifying and being independent because not all people in poverty locations are addicted to drugs. I think they exist in that world, but I don't know if it's, to be fair, what else they got to do? So okay, say jazz 70. Heroin is the one you're going with. But is there any other ones that you want to if I had a room that you could go into? And there was a table of every single drug? And you knew as soon as you left that room, you would be alive and you wouldn't be addicted to the drug? What do you try and why? I will take quite Lutz and Wolf of Wall Street Queloz for Wall Street. Wolf of Wall Street isn't a drug. No, but he's quite lewd as my drug. Why is because of you do you see that seem that sound that looks appealing to you? I want to see if that's how it actually was. For science. Okay, so you want to get slowed down as what you're telling you want to you want to you want the world to just stop? You want time travel? Essentially? I may have to watch that movie tonight. What about you, Rick? I don't I was thinking about the question, but I really don't think I have one that I would want to try it because it just in my motherfucker you've been trying to know. You're saying it's illegal drug? Right? Do you know every drug? Pretty drug? Oh, I'm thinking? Oh, no, every single drug and drug would you want to try that? Um, yeah, it would be it would be between DMT or we'll see I don't I, I lost. I lost it. But which is basically just another version of DMT. Right. Right. It's there's some form of right, where you're tripping balls basically in like, I've been hearing stories about elves coming to talk to you or some shit like that, or was elzar Clara Mills, something like that? Yeah. And then, of course, Joe Rogan is where I heard that. He was saying that, you know, everyone he's talked to who's who had that experience. Your experience is based on what the elves tell you during that trip. Right? And it's supposed to be some sort of profound experience. Like it's supposed to really open your eyes, right? And make you kind of see what you're supposed to be doing. Now, I don't know if that's true. Obviously. I've never tried it at all could be bullshit. It could just be because to kind of go back to our religious episode, one of the theories is I can't remember the dude's fucking name. But the burning bush, they think the bush might have been in DMT trip. That's when the burning bush was speaking new. I can't remember who it was. Abraham, was that no. Did the 10 commandments. I can't. Why am I drawing a huge blank on the do? No. I mean, that yeah, we know what you're talking about. Right? Right. Right. I cannot remember his name. I don't know. Abraham. There was Matthew, Mark, Luke. Look it up. Charleston has a Charlton Heston. Really? He played them in Charlton Heston played Moses. Oh, wait, he played Moses. I believe it was Moses. Let my people go. Wait, and Moses is the one that got the 10 commandments. Yeah, Moses day gets in commandment wasn't Moses we should know this out of all days. At the time of this recording, two days from now. No, please pass over though. Is it? I don't know. I can't tell you the last time I've been to some sort of church and what as a matter of fact, the last time I've gone I told him about that kind of stuff. Just so you're saying Moses was on a DMT trip? Yeah, one of the theories is he may have just been experiencing a DMT trip. That's why the bush was speaking them. And you guys thought I got smiley mushrooms. Let me talk about some DMT saves go ahead before I explode. No saying I don't know about those, uh, those DMT elves, but I've seen alcohol before what happens when you drink yourself sober? I don't know if you've ever done that it's not a fun time. I think I've stayed up long enough to become sober after a night of drinking. Yes, no, I mean, were you just constantly consumed alcohol and then you just not drunk anymore oddly. And you see you start loosening, not till you go to sleep. At that point, you just got to stay up. Because your body literally just can't take any more than just a bucket. And most people would black out before that hits. Well, those people are called quitters. Yeah, to keep going. Imagine what the brain looks like at that moment. It's just gray. I've only done it twice, but I haven't done it in years. Come on, tell me what the elves though. Yeah, don't don't forget to ask. I was standing at the foot of my bed. It was like, like it was like a hallucination. They weren't saying anything. It was just one of them. fogger on lock the fucking clockwork elves man. I was woke up, saw some shit was like, well, in my head. I was like, visit this. It just went right back to sleep. Like it just happened to them. No, I was drunk out of my fucking mind. Like when you finally go to sleep, and your body can catch up, it catches up. All right. I've never fucking heard that. I've never heard of that. I've never heard of the loose. Well, like, if you're an extreme alcoholic, I think you can get those types of episodes. Like extreme alcoholism can lead to that. You're definitely damaging your brain at that point. Yeah, I was there for a little bit. That's heroin. Rick so why does that sound appealing to you, though, to be the drug you want to try? Mainly because like I said, I've lived my whole life of not wanting to try anything that really took me out of my body. So you want to go straight to DMT get one. I would imagine there's probably like a little buffer that I should take before DMT I mean, what? Like I mean mushrooms. Like I said, I don't I don't know if most of them really? Maybe I just didn't take enough or like you said it could have just been I didn't I didn't really let my mind go with it. I kind of what about like Extra STEAM? You want to like feel just horny about everything? No, I don't have that problem already. I'm not saying like to solve a problem, but to like, enhance what we're taking. So I don't know. But what I'm told is that like, everything is just fucking bone. Terrific. Oh, my goodness. No, I wouldn't want to try that one. Because that one makes you move fast. Right? It kind of speeds everything up and ran. Thanks. So not the day that doesn't stand out as like a bullet point of ecstasy is like a speeding of that thing. There's just cocaine. When you hear the word ecstasy, you just hear rave music in your head. Because my knowledge of ecstasy is that episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, with when they were popping up before they went into the club, and then they were just dancing like crazy with glow sticks. That's my knowledge of ecstasy. You kind of have to like your body like knows like you have to fucking move or else you're going to death. Does this sound like a good time? While you're in the middle of that, like that should feels like orgasmic in the entirety of that. I mean, I guess I don't want to be I want to find out if I'm allergic to shit. Right. But is that not added to your list of like, in this room of safe experiences? You'll want to try it out just to see no I'm still still taking disclaimers just because the lewd as it was called the lewd. In the 60s. Yeah. And for me, it's just it's still just DMT Ayahuasca that I might add peyote in there because I'm just curious, you know? Peyote is an interesting one. So that's a cactus that you write that you you hallucinate and go on like spirit. Spirit fucking walks. It was good enough for the Native Americans. Is it a cabinet? No, know it's a cactus. But say are you saying Are you familiar with DMT at all? And I Alaska? No. So I gotta get this off my chest because I've done a lot of fucking looking into it because it's a fascinating drug. So I Alaska is a plant in the Amazon, Rick, if you didn't know that part of it that produces this chemical dimethyl tryptamine or whatever. So they're Amazonian tribes, they would utilize this plant to go on these crazy experiences in similar fashion to what the natives would do with peyote. So DMT is a synthesis is just the synthesized thing from that plant. So I Alaskan DMT is essentially the same. But if you were to take iOS, there's a whole ritual around it that you would want to do. If you ever were to have just I Alaska. So you know, like the fucking smoke flowing around you and like chanting and things like that. Now, here's the fascinating thing, though, sage, and I know you're looking like what the fuck? Why is this such a fascinating drug? Well, let me tell you why. Because our body naturally produces this DMT. And our pineal gland produces Dimethyltryptamine I'm pretty sure that's the the way you say it, which is also linked to near death experiences. So when our when we have those experiences, or just one more dying, we release this compound in our brain. And we go on this journey is least the theory, but we can prove that we do release when we're dying. So we have this thing, right, this chemical, naturally occurring implants naturally occurring in ourselves. The other fascinating thing about this is when if there are a lot of reports of people taking this in a group setting, and they'll have shared hallucinations. So you we all are seeing the same thing, while we're tripping on this drug, which, you know, the clockwork elves thing kind of comes into play there. But there's this link to this linked consciousness attributed with this drug, which makes me want to try this shit, especially in a group setting with these people happen to be from the caucus mountains. There's also people from the other mountains that also go into this. Yeah, shut the fuck up. So everybody always talks about when they're tripping on this drug, though, most people will get to this point where there's this white light, right? Tell me when things start to sound familiar. So you, you smoke the drug. And then you get to the white light. And usually you can stop there. But if you do this ritual part of it, like we do these certain breathing techniques while you're smoking and you're having somebody like guide you through, you can break through this white light and you go to this other place. And then this other place, this is where you see the clockwork elves come into play. And it's usually what people will experience is you're in a room and there's all these like beings around you. And they're kind of like judging you for everything you've done in your entire life. Every single thing the entire experience is these things just are judging you calling out yelling at you, praising you for things you did good. Calling out bad things that you did. You shouldn't do this yelling Yeah, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, and then you wake up. And that sounds terrifying. But you wake up and you're like, almost crying because of just how like, fucking powerful this experience was. And hearing that these types of experience you can go on YouTube right now there's this I think the Swedish couple that does these drugs lie like not lie, but like on their videos, and there's, I'm telling you look into DMT. But the fact that our body naturally produces this, we see this as we die. We kind of hear some of these stories of these experiences when you do smoke it that sound awfully familiar to afterlife type shit. It's kind of fascinating. Make the links where you will sounds like the body produces as one last hurrah is like oh, this is it. Here you go. Well, I don't get Nope. Well, the ones on the caucus mountains though they want to say that this is maybe a bridge to another domain that all the time now. But they want to link this to alternate dimensions and that these clockwork elves are dimensional beings, and whatever that means, see, but the thing is, I wouldn't do never pissed me off. You would think that if I go to if I go to a light and I get there and I just got a bunch of people judging me, I'm gonna start yelling back like fuck you. Yeah, I don't know. But like everybody comes out of it with sort of a good feeling like you everything comes into place like you'd know yourself better because you knew this shit about yourself. You didn't really like take it into account. So DMT He is fascinating. So Rick, I'm right there with you. As that being number one on the list to try, I might try that outside of this experiment more time. Just to see, because imagine like the pineal gland itself has a whole other fucking craziness in history. But is that the only one you're doing though? Rick has just DMT and ayahuasca? Yeah, yeah, I don't, I don't think I'm really interested in trying anything else. I've been scarred from drug use for virtually all of my life. I've been surrounded by, like, No 0% chance to get addicted and you will survive. You don't want to just No, no, no, not at all. But, but I will say that that might just be because of my experience. Being surrounded by that could just be why I feel that way. I don't even want to entertain the idea of trying any of that kind of shit. Tell them some clay Lutz and then get an office party going where we throw little people. First of all, do you know any little people? We just do you put out an ad on Craigslist, like, hey, I need a little people who are cool. We're getting tossed. I'll follow you, Rick, you know? What the fuck? I feel like we could toss you. Not before I kick you in the Dick Well, let me tell you because I'm definitely like any drug that somebody would suck dick for. I'm trying that drug. Because that has to be the most magical fucking experience if you're willing to suck dick for it. I hate the fact that I get your logic. Like, that has to be the most fucking purest form of just feel goods. If you're willing to suck a dick for that. I want to try that drug. So that heroin Absolutely. You would suck dick to try heroin. No, I'm just I'm listening to you, man. If I were to do it now and I have a pretty addictive personality. Like I probably would end up being the one of the ones that sucked dick to get more of it. After I've exhausted all options, you know what I mean? Maybe not all options either. Well, you heard it here first, ladies and gentlemen. Why don't do heroin. That's why you don't just I don't want to. I don't know. I never tried it. I just don't think I would like it. It's not delightful. Ly chalk lines delightful. But I mean, like here one has to be fucking amazing, though. Right? Like it has to be 100% has to be. And that was legal at one point too, wasn't it? The way it ruins people's lives? Is don't give a shit. It has to be right. Same thing with crack, right? What do you think the difference is? Does anybody know the difference between crack and heroin highs? No. I just know when a motherfucker is a high on the side of the street. Can't nothing knock them down. It can be the strongest breeze in the world feet are glued to the fucking Summit. That fucking night dances. I've watched a bunch of these YouTube videos where these guys will go through these streets and like different cities across the country where the shoes just open like the police aren't doing shit about it. It's just like fucking heroin. It's a black of heroin people and there's just fucking syringes all on the ground. People are doing the nod dances, it's kind of sad that it just is allowed to happen and occur that way. I mean, to be fair thing hurt nobody. Except themselves. That's their choice. Hmm. I agree. But I feel like I don't know. I mean, is that can we not help? Everybody's not here for a long time. Some people are here just for a good time. Yeah. You know, it's interesting, too, that I just found out I was looking into a lot of the homeless population. And Ricky brought this up, I think was that you were sage that talked about the correlation between drugs and homelessness. But a lot of times when I was reading about a lot of times these addicts, they're not even homeless. But yeah, they will be homeless because it's closer to the drug dealers. So they buy the drugs and just pick the student next to the where the drug dealers that and just use their drug, go back get more and then they just they just fucking they're stuck there. They stay there because of how powerful the addiction is. My question has always been when you see people who are, you know, using drugs to that extent like that, to where you know, I'm gonna write I'm gonna take this little alleyway be right next to my drug dealer. So I know I can always get this. At what point are you eating? Right now? They're not healthy. It's not like they're fucking, they're not eating. Like you gotta beat you that just waking up out of a stupid like, Man, I could really use a burger before I take this shot here. You're not thinking about like, Have you guys ever been addicted to anything that you can say? I'm addicted to the game. What game is that? Elden ring? Well, I was gonna say maybe games. This is probably my addiction. But do you think when you're addicted to a game, do you ever have that feeling then of like, I can't go a day without playing this? No, no, I can definitely go days without playing it. Yes. I don't know if that's like, true, addictive feelings that you guys might have experienced. And or at least you Rick. Yeah. Cigarettes, I can tell you. The addiction was real. There was real there. See, I have an addictive personality as well. But but I'm also very strong willed at the same time. That kind of clashes with each other, doesn't it? Yes, but that's all I can I can stop forcing myself to stop something that I really want to do. All the time. So why wait till 70 to try here when dangerous beasts is taking down many of men for me. That's strong. For me. The Goliath right? They're trying to talk you into trying here. The test? will have your back 100% of the way if you're not rolling dice on that one. Race Day, then we'll we'll get you we'll find out what why am I doing it? We can't toss you might as well just supply your wiener. To be fair, I have I have a lot of nice stuff I can give away before I get the second. It's gonna be a bit. That's funny. That's a lot of heroin wouldn't see me for months come in my house is just empty. What happened? Everything. Don't worry about it. Smoking briskets and shooting heroin. He's got his priorities in check. Somebody's doing that somewhere. Nope, there are people who do use heroin on a daily basis and and are functioning are able to function on it. It could be people that have that willpower that you're talking about that are not allowing it to sort of go unchecked, or at least have some sort of intelligence about it to maintain. But there aren't the same thing I was talking about with micro dosing LSD people are using heroin and functioning everyday and are prominent people within society to fix it. And that's why I say you can say the same thing about alcohol because you have functioning alcoholics. Yeah, they want to bring alcoholic tourists. I feel like that is a different category. But I do agree that it is a drug and people can become addicted to it. But since we all drink, I don't know if it's that interesting of a thing to talk about. I don't drink ever. Yeah, I never drink. Well, I No, no. No, you know what? I was gonna say that, you know, and I am starting to notice that I sleep so much better at night. If I have just one Miller Lite. Oh, okay. Terrible nightcap, but it is called a nightcap. I'm starting to notice that I like since I can remember. I've never been able to sleep an entire night. I always wake up around three o'clock. 3am. Right. Every single night. I've heard that too. I've actually had someone telling me that there might be a connection to that. And I'm just like, you're fucking nuts, whatever. But I've never been able to sleep through an entire night. But when I have one Miller light at night. Those nights I can pretty much sleep the whole night. If another light is knocking you out and drink one cup of bourbon. We'll see you next week. You know as funny, you know, as he is. They mess with me so much to align. I get like three sips of the miller lite and I feel it already. Yeah. Oh man. I'm kinda it's kind of healthy. They're like you could go your entire life just having that one beer before you go to bed in a cheap date. Yeah, collectively a year. I've collectively maybe you've had well beers, five beers a year. I have a Yeah, I do not drink like last night. I've had eight right now. Okay, back to drugs though. One important thing I do want to talk about is Ricky brought this up a little bit as far as like you made the comment that you've seen what drugs are capable doing. So what are your guys's experience in the world of drugs? And just like, what has that been? Like? I mean, like, we will say tonight at least we grew up on like crack was a huge problem. My parents were fucking crack addicts. They stopped, but they were. So what was your experiences like with the world of drugs? My uncle was a crack addict and wrote his life actually, up until my grandmother recently passed. He was living in her basement because of living in her basement. Yeah. And now he got he got his my dad helped him get himself an apartment and stuff. None of my grandma passed, but he'd been living down there just trying to get his shit back together. Because you still crack attic or no, he stopped a while ago now. Okay? Do you know how he was able to quit? forcibly? Fuck you up, you keep taking a shit. Now I'm kind of I've, I've had a few family members be addicted to crack or heroin. I'm not 100% sure what they were addicted to. But I do know there was an addiction. And I do know that the people that were affected by it, it ruin their life. During that time. It just It was horrible. me seeing them. Like that was just, I really think that that is why I'm so adamant against it. You know, as far as trying it myself. But drugs in general or crack? I mean, specifically, like the the crack cocaine, heroin, that kind of stuff. Like we who gives a shit? DMT? Who that's all that? I don't think none of none of that stuff is life. stuff, you know, for the most part, but yeah, dude, it's not fun to be around someone addicted to that kind of shit. No, it's not. It's, I mean, like, how do you judge? Kenny? Are you? Is it okay to judge somebody for that? Like? I don't think so. Because the people that I know that were going through it, I know exactly why they were going through it. And I know what led them down that path. You know, and I think you could probably say the same thing for most addicts, where there's something traumatic that happened to them that kind of pushed them to that, you know, maybe they escape reality, or, you know, something happened to them that just, they just were never able to get over or overcome it. I think that certainly in a lot of cases that could be but I don't know if that I would say most or majority though, you know, let me ask you, though, let me ask both of you. You know, there's been a huge debate over whether or not weed is a gateway drug to the hardship. Now, I've kind of been on the side of everyone that I know who has tried weed has also eventually tried something else. Do you think there's a connection there? Or do you think they'll just curiosity, just let them wander the there is a connection, but it's not the connection that they want? Right? They want you to think that because you've done weed, you're now going to do crack? What's not the direct cause of that? No, I would, I wouldn't say we use a gateway drug. Your friends are a gateway drug. Yep. Exactly right. It's the environment in which the same environment that you're trying weed in, there's likely going to be other drugs in that same stage, I brought it up earlier. And in college, there was all these drugs all around jet is actually the best example I've ever heard against the idea of of being a gateway drug. Because you're right. If you're trying weed, more than likely the circle of friends you're with are trying other stuff as well. But I mean, to play devil's advocate here, couldn't you also make the connection that weed is where those people started, and then eventually went to try something else? Doesn't have to be? It doesn't have to be but that that is certainly a journey. And I think that's going to change now. Because I think when that was being a statement that was being said was when weed was still illegal. So you're still dealing with illegal activity. Now that it's completely legal. I don't think we're going to see that connection at all, or maybe a little bit but I don't think that's going to be the buzz statement for parents to talk about to their children like it's a gateway drug. I don't think I think that's gonna go away. And what is it exactly what is it a gateway to McDonald's? Right, McDonald's are just really really sleepy. Like, what are we? What's the problem? But I grew up with friends that were we smoked weed together for the first time like it was our journey. And I've seen them go into other drugs and some stop after less harsh drugs. But I have friends that have went on to the harsher things like meth and crack and I forgot all of that shit. I don't remember this. exactly what they said there was some sort of conspiracy theory that was saying that the people that were trying to make we this evil drug that's like ruining people's lives was because they found that the same materials or whatever that's in weed, could also be it could replace pants or some shit like the fabric of pants, isn't yet. And there was some sort of weird conspiracy theory with that when they were they were making a campaign to vilify we, let's be honest, we it was only illegal because the US government couldn't figure out how to profit on it, which kind of doesn't make sense because how can you not tax tax it but the best America as being the self centered motherfuckers we are, of course, everything has to the greatest of something has to come from here and the best weed in in America. Now, that's not necessarily true, because the thing is that marijuana plant itself is a very durable plant, and anybody can grow it, you can grow in some of the most harshest climates and situations. So the fact that like, Joe Schmo can just produce it themselves. But I don't know if I buy into that conspiracy though, Rick, that it was a plot against the pants companies. Like some sort of some really weird the way they laid it out. But it was there's a lot of I don't know what that was. But we see, like Reefer Madness was the big propaganda film that the government had put out, twice vilify marijuana, you know, in all the conspiracy things like I don't know, if I've ever read why the I think the government was just, you're coming out of the 50s. And you have this cultural difference going into the 60s and 70s. So there's cultural revolution that's happening. And the 50s group is trying to maintain what they had. And so they were propagandizing against it, because we had this this cultural revolution, they were going out against the war. They're having free thinking. And marijuana had a lot to do with a lot of that so like my only guess would be that there were vilifying him just because of the cultural revolution that was happening. No, I'm still going with money. Because if you think about it, they could have just sold it themselves though they could have legalized it like they are now they were trying to figure out a way to do it. You think about it now Okay, before it was legal legalized. How many times have we seen on national TV any celebrity openly or in movies? Openly doing we openly talking about it not giving a fuck? Nobody got arrested Ain't nobody no tickets. They don't give a shit. They just like they're like it's illegal. If you do it we're gonna really say nothing until now then they finally figure out a way to market it well Colorado did realize that your surplus of money they made so much money they had to give it back to the people Yeah, if and then they were like you know what? Maybe we were wrong if you were living in Colorado at the time of the legalization like you were fucking gold I forget how much they made back but like whatever like what was there was a law or something right like you can only make so much yeah, can they do they were making they didn't know what to do. Like literally every citizen of Colorado got a check from the marijuana surplus income and well is Illinois. Medicinal in Illinois right now recreationally as of 2020 Right when everything hit the fan good for Illinois because at least make some money because when 2020 hit and everything hit the fan they write it and they the first thing they hit with the dispensaries and then Illinois was being shady with the two because they were only they're only really putting them in urban areas, but not allowing any black people to own any of them was that the federal at the federal level stepping in like trying to fuck with them though? Or was that state level that will stay low? Because they called it a lottery of who got to do it but amazingly nothing but Indian and white dudes got it in under black people. So you had all these black Ottomans saying no. Well then you can't put this in my fucking territory unless it's black. Oh, no. Oh, no, I didn't I didn't know anything about that. Again, they were like you've got to have all these different other races making money off of Black Folk, but we can't make money and so they were like nah, not today. Is that different now? 2022 Yeah, I mean, everybody can fucking you got enough money to fucking you can start up a dispensary no matter no bullshit. They want a million bucks just assert. Imagine the income though. Maybe there's a flooding of the market because I think I could logically think that that's what would happen but that was the thing. That was the thing though. You paid a million for the application it wasn't guaranteed Oh, so you can just be out of milk right right. I want to told my fucking pothead younger self that this shit was gonna be legal today. Oh my God I want to rejoice full fucking I'm like pissed that I don't smoke weed now that it's legal he's so mad about that. Yeah well even that too like I don't want to just eat an edible by myself out here we want to come back move back to Illinois but put on some dirt some Bentley the amount of sketchy shit I did do fucking get some weed just to be a fucking stoner goth kid listen to Pink Floyd with my black lights like come on, man. What I'm hearing is you already have some dick for wheat. Like I've lost a lot of money from like shady deals. I've got a lot of dirt. Wait, I've been in a lot of suspicious fucking transactions. It was like 21 Jump Street shit almost. When we had like these two cops come that were like undercover. And they came to the house and they were like, Hey, I heard this place to get some weed because I was I was selling a little bit but not some like major like dye mags. You got a backwards baseball cap. That's not like bringing your age down. 20 years like I know you're a fucking cop. I came to your house. Definitely. I was nervous. I was like, oh shit. There actually was no fuck. Maybe I should stop this. That's why when fucking Ricky was selling fucking coke out of my goddamn apartment. snipped snitches get stitches. Do not be watching for wait for it. Yeah. Well, he. I got. Yeah, he owes some money to my family. Well, I'm gonna need that info. I'm very well and that dude, fucking not well, just a drug story with him. Before 20 No, no, no, no, no, it was I was I was hanging out with him. We went to I don't know where we went. But it was like a fucking coke Haven. Like, everybody was doing coke. And I wasn't I was actually that was the first time in my life. I was actually close to doing it. Not out of peer pressure just because I was already like, toasty. And I was like, Yeah, fuck it. But I didn't do it. But everybody was doing this shit. I remember I was driving home to and I somehow was on the road next to Brandon. And Brandon wasn't there at the party. He was just like, he was like, on his way to work or something. So like rolling down the window. I'm like, Dude, we just let this party do like everybody was doing coke. And I was just like hollering out the window. And so he had went back to Ricky and told them how like, exuberant I was about that fact. And so like, Ricky was just giving me so much shit. How like, hyped I was about snitching and how much cocaine was going on. He's like, Yeah, man, you have to tell the whole fucking world did you really have to do that? There was like, there was like a ping pong table and they were just fucking dumping coke on the whole ping pong table and like lining up. Like, it wasn't just like, casual like, Hey, let me just do fucking lines. Like this was like a cocaine party. Do you remember when he disappeared for three, three or four days? I think I remember here that maybe? That's what I thought this was a story. I thought you're about to say the 420 Yeah, yeah, I did like I think three or four fucking gravity bongs. And then nobody heard from like four days. Come Come to find out the deal was so high. He passed out the little grants walkway from be from behind your house to be right. That's right, threw up and thought he threw up his liver but it was just the rock that rolled into the fucking gazebo and just stayed in the gazebo for three or four days just crying. Thinking he was gonna die. Yeah, nobody could find his do because we got fucking creative with our paraphernalia. Rick, I want you to describe the bong that you hit on that second we'd experienced though. Just I know your level of information. I can't remember the color or anything like that. But I mean it was you know even size little ball at the bottom with a long neck like, like a foot and know that three foot? No, no. I six inches I honestly I don't know. I so I was maybe III 20 At the time, maybe 21. I go to my cousin's house, he wanted to have a game night and he wanted to play Resident Evil two on the ps1, resonable. Two. So we go in his basement, we're all down there hanging out. And we're, you know, everyone's just hitting the ball or whatever. I want to say I did. Maybe three hits from it. three, maybe four. But I know I gave up after the third or fourth hit because I was like, My chest feels like it's on fire. I'm not enjoying this. This is not. This is not fun. I don't know. I'm good. I think that is pretty much. I think that was the last time I did anything with wheat over 20 years ago. Yeah. But how big we're not telling you. How big was I? Honestly, I don't know, man. I have no idea. I mean, maybe have maybe the size of my arm. Maybe it's from like, the tip of my fingers to my elbow. Maybe? Oh, it was a big ball. Okay. Something like that. Yeah, but again, I mean, I mean, again, 1516 years ago, man, you know? Yeah, I don't I don't remember. Like, are you? Like, are you like alluding to something? Is there like an inside? No, no, no, no. I was I wanted to explain some of the paraphernalia that like we had like created ourselves because I keep looking at and I'm expected listening about like the gravity bombs, but like we had like shit like bread bag bongs. So you think you would have a two liter imagine a two liter right? And cut off like the bumpy part at the bottom of the two liter right? With me? Yeah, yeah. Okay. So you cut the bottom of the two liter off. And then you tape a bread bag around it around the round the bottom hole of that two liter. And then you drill a little hole in the in the two litre cap the pop cap and you put like a bowl stem in there like the same thing that you would have pulled out of the bong to clear it to run out. Why is that? Because I think I've seen something where I've seen someone put an apple on top of a pumpkin and like drill a hole in the middle of the pumpkin. I think he's thinking of more than two things because you can make a pipe out of an apple and you can make a pipe out of a pumpkin or apple on top of a pumpkin to create like to fucking create when you smoke some weed man, before we go before we end this. Can we all just agree that for 20 is a stupid holiday? No. Why not? I mean, it means absolutely nothing. But like celebrating smoking weed for something that you do every day is like having a holiday around eating. You know what I mean? Like Thanksgiving, but Thanksgiving is not about eating you Felker. It's about now. No, no, no, it's because people decide this is the day we're going to eat big mac and cheese doesn't mean that's what the holidays about. When I was a pothead. I enjoyed celebrating around that time and that day like it was just the thing that every other person that smokes weed could connect with. And so that was nice. So when did you let me ask you this? When do you celebrate National breathing day? National breathing or national take a shit day? When's that? When's your birthday? We kind of walked right into I did I did. What are you trying? But Day Day? Day? Oh, my goodness. Just the you know, you're you're minimizing the significance of what for 20 means to potheads. Yeah. I'm really being more funny than anything. Because yeah, do what you want. I just like pointing out the absurdity of it. No, it is. It is dumb. But it is just the thing that potheads can just all get around like merchandise and and everybody knows what that means. When it comes to what for 20 Even though we really don't know the history of it. We have a lot of theories, whether it's the police code, or some group of stoners, way back in the day got together at 420 After school behind the bleachers kind of shit like, Yeah, we don't really know where it came from. But there's some strong ideas of where that came from. But yes, no, it's fucking stupid. But it was the nice thing to get around when you were a habitual weed smoker. Right? Like I said, Man, I get it. People want to celebrate what they want to celebrate. That's cool. I'm really being more funny than anything. But then I'm also not I don't think it's incredibly stupid. But do it. But if you were never like really a pothead, you wouldn't really know, to appreciate it in the way that we appreciate it. Because it wasn't just the day like it wasn't just April 20 It was the time of day. It was 420 it was anytime there was four. I just googled it and I figured out what to do. endgame is nothing spectacular. Of course. What was the origin story? It started in 1971 Apparently coined as a code word by high school students at San
Raphael. Yes reference to 4:20pm the time at which they would regularly meet to try and locate unattended plant of cannabis plant Yes, that's the going through that's what I'm talking about, like, you know meet at this time behind the bleachers kind of shit. Who don't fucking know. No fucking No, no, but you know, another way of looking at it too is like, video game. The holiday is like you know, it was a three right i mean you play games every day. Why is June 13 to the 15th special occasion because you're celebrating the the the the idea of the whole thing so I get it wasn't that you weren't able to celebrate any holiday as a kid so you see all holidays is ridiculous, right? That's not true. No, I celebrate holidays like normal people. What's ones Christmas? Easter. Arbor Day, Arbor Day. Celebrate Arbor Day. That was two. That was that was for the heathens? Do you want to know what holiday you celebrate? It wasn't. It was August 14 1945. That's for sure. No, celebrate that day. Okay, just making sure man. No, I mean, I remember I said something about it. To this girl used to work with TJ Maxx. And she got so she was so not to cut you off. Did I hear that wrong? He will say her name was TJ Maxx. TJ Maxx if I said that that's not what I want when I worked at TJ Maxx Oh, I'm gonna say what can we get clarification on that? Didn't do the whole room while I was doing this whole name TJ Maxx got fr G's. But when I said that she got so offended she's just like I think is wrong that people just don't let people have what they want and I'm like no, you can do whatever you want. For 20 Yeah. Oh that's a you can do whatever you want like celebrate it however you want to celebrate I'm just merely stating that I think it's ridiculous that I think I think at that time like you were probably you weren't obviously smoking weed and at that time you know being a pothead was not a good look. Right. You're like already talking about our holiday then yeah, we're gonna be like your way being disrespectful. Right? Right. Did you think smoking weed was a part of your identity when you were not I was Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, so I mean I get it now. 19 year old Derrick was like like I was all in that shit was on my clothes. I added no delete leaf was fucking was the logo of God at that point like that was my identity during that time. Yeah, I mean, maybe one day I'll give it another shot I mean I'm definitely going to try and edible at one point you see hope I'm not pushing you know peer pressure does not work but we're just gonna hold him down and shove it down his throat oh my goodness but I do say with sage in the fact that like so you at some points in your life had a curiosity enough to experience something different but you never got it so I think you should if you still have that curiosity about yourself to try something so like an edible I think would be the easiest route to go if you think that fucking Bud Light before you go to bed is good try that out allow the law on the fuckers gonna be able to understand all of the middle gear solid storyline again so So are you saying I have I will have a stronger mental capacity with the edible no I would have thought it was the opposite I would have thought I would also like edibles isn't really like a mental although it can be it is more of a body hi you do feel just chill and relaxed and one with the moment one with the moment I have had edible experiences where it was a mental thing like it was fucking overpower brownies and ship but the shit that I've been able to like purchase commercially like these days. It's even down so like before you would basically make THC butter and use that butter to make your cookies and brownies. But it wasn't really like you couldn't really easily regulate how much was going into that and how much would be in a in a particular brownie or a cookie. Nowadays in the commercial shit that you could buy you, you will know that this has exactly what the product is saying. So you know what you're getting into. Before you eat that brownie you could be sitting next to the guy eats another brownie which you and Mike just happens to have more that shit in Oh fuck. Next thing you know, you're like three knows what I'm talking about. It's still a good time. Sure. Now, one last question before before we go. Have either you experience too while under any sort of influence any situation similar to Harold and Kumar, go to White Castle. Be more specific, like, have you ever had an adventure while you were under the influence? Like have you ever? Like you wanted to go to one place and it ended up being some way bigger? Like I mean, with weed, it's kind of a stationary thing. You've just you're not really trying to go somewhere else. You just want to stay but I think the only thing I could like equate to maybe what you're talking to is like I remember I went on a trip to Florida with my family. And my uncle who I got a lot of my weed from at that time. We smoked a bunch and I think he was us on some other shit. I think he was on ecstasy actually at the time. And on our way to Florida. We stopped in I think, Virginia. And we stayed at this place that was on like this big golf course. And I remember we went around the golf course at like 2am in the morning to steal every flag from each hole. And we were fucking being ninjas. Like I remember like on all fours spotlights looking at us to do and smash the flag and then hurry up into the forest to go to the next hole to get the next flag reality they were loud as fuck, right? Yeah yeah, I know that I think like as far as like adventures go, that was the big one that now I was young. I think I was like 16 At that point, Dan, I've never been on any adventures Well, under the influence of drugs. I've been on adventures that never know. But I'm still I still can't fucking remember. I'm gonna figure out who I was that one of these days. I've been searching my mind for it. I just know that Mardi Gras maybe not really? 100% Sure. Have you been where you've been? Yeah. I bet that was dope. But no drug safe, right? No drugs. Yeah. Man, I would love to go tomorrow, you're making deals on the side of the street with girls for beads and boobs? Negotiating like fucking heroin. And so he was negotiating. They, they were like those beads. I want him. Well, you know what you gotta do? Oh, I wanted to bring this up earlier in the beginning. But Louie CK did a bit. He was talking about explaining to his children about drugs and how he's like, how do you explain to your children that something is so fucking good that it will ruin your life? Well, that's a good point, though. Because like out of us, Rick, you're the only one that actually has kids. So how would you plan on talking about like wheat now that it is a legal thing? To them? I would. I mean, of course when they're a little older, hopefully they don't experience it until they're like 18 Plus or something like that. But is this now like on the itinerary along with the sex talk is like is this First of all, I'm not doing this x dog. I'm doing the whole like, boys are gross. Stay away from nothing, not a single one of them is good. They're all they're all girls. I might even tell her like you might you might catch something if you even look at it. So just just stay you're gonna get herpes if you mess with any boys or smoke weed. Exactly. Something you think about when it comes to legalize weed like the legalization of weed? Would you be okay with them smoking it or buying weed? It depends on the age, right? Like if they're age appropriate, right? If they're 15 Probably not. But like, first of all, like when you turn 18 Like how they don't really give a shit. What is the age to buy weed at least in Illinois? Is it 18 or 2121? I believe is 21 because you got to be 21 Now to even buy cigarettes. Oh, that's Right yeah. Okay, so I 21 Your daughter's are both potheads What do you think about that? Thinking? Right, so you can go to ward 18 can't buy a cigarette 21 Yeah. Or out of Illinois though. That's Illinois. Yeah, you can die in someone else's war but you're not smoking around 21 might be federal I don't think so. I thought it was just state because there were states that you could be 16 and buy cigarettes back when I was was federal but yeah, no, dude, I really, I wouldn't care only because to me weed is so non important. But yeah, I don't think we does anything damaging to you. You know, I think it's something that it's there's so many people that I know that do smoke weed on a regular basis and they're completely fine. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they have shown that I believe I read this somewhere that they have shown that smoking weed can help rebuild neural pathways. Yeah, I don't know if they've done that in in human subjects. But I do remember that study on at least like rats and shit that there is some restorative features in that but the marijuana plant does like like we talked about the hemp earlier there's a lot of oils that can do a lot of things smoking it can do a lot of things eating it can it's a very incredible plant even though I don't utilize it in my day they use marijuana for a lot of I'm losing the word there but they use it as like a remedy for a decent amount of things now, right? Yeah, but there's also the very heavy potheads that want to put that plant on a pedestal and think that everything can be like you know, fucking crystals and shit. There is a little bit of science though behind some of the things Yeah, I was it then. Bill Maher and Dave Chappelle is pot moving. Keep thinking the name of it. Oh, half baked. Yeah, half baked. He's like, Oh, have you ever watched this? Have you watched it? And we say the fucking weed movies when I was a kid like Cheech and Chong, though, let's fucking go. And have they came out? That was the weed movie. Like that was the answer. I've always felt that half baked in how high should switch names? Off how high was not a good movie? You're how high was? Listen, I can watch half pay now and think it's a great movie. I don't think I could watch how high right now and think it's a great space to think about what happened with that series to like fucking little Yachty isn't like the how high three. exists? That didn't count. To be fair act like that person doesn't exist. True. Just there's no respect for it. And I hear that up in smoke is getting a reboot via Cheech and Chong. Those motherfuckers were selling records that came with rolling papers like, Oh, dude, I've been moved since I was a kid. Yeah, those movies. Rick, do you know anything about Cheech and Chong? Yeah, I'm familiar. We'll never seen him, like movies and stuff, but I am familiar with them. Those movies? Well, you know, I grew up you know, my brother. Huge we had so the limited knowledge I do have a lot of it is from him. Just him coming into the house when we when I was younger, saying stuff about like, Man, I just smoked the greatest bog of smoke in my life. I'm sure a lot of the music he listened to, to probably gave you some window into the world. Yeah, he is the reason that I heard three six mafia for the first time, and I got completely hooked on them for a decade. You know, a whole medicine. It's a miracle. I'm not a drug addict in some shape, or form as mountains, folks who aren't just using cold medicine for their own things right. Now, first of all, don't do that. You're gonna get fucked up on some scissor about no. No, not trying to kill myself. Sipping. Well, I mean, scissors still exists now. It's just kind of lean. Yeah. Oh, yeah, that's right. That's right. So literally, we can't cure a cold anymore because we're too busy and fucked up. Near humans. That's how we roll bro. Blood samples, just dude. I mean, I'm just trying to breathe out my nose here and But I just want to breathe, please. i This should not be this difficult. But that I mean, that's something we didn't really get into. And I think we should talk about this on another episode though, like medicine, because that is a drug. But it's fascinating. Like, the comedians joke about this shit all the time the list of symptoms is longer than the shit that it's actually curing. Oh, yeah, it always is, you know, like, and yet we have these natural things that can alleviate things. But the pharmaceutical industry, Rick, I'm sure, you know, way too much about pharmaceutical industry, in relation to politics, and how corrupt that she can be and how, like, how that she has prioritized. And like I said earlier, that's how we got to the heroin epidemic that we're in now. So I think that's something that we should talk about on another episode. So the corruption that lies in that yeah, or just we'll do a whole episode about government corruption. That might be like three, four or five. Anything else he has been talking about with drugs? I feel like we covered a lot of things when it comes to drugs. Yeah, I feel like we've scratched the surface. Yeah. I mean, because it mean, you sit and talk about drove for hours. You know what I what, as you can tell by the two hour and 24 minute run time, yeah, that's gonna get edited down to like an hour and a half because all the dumb shit that Rick says But Oh. But, Rick, when you talk about like, how the statement of weed is a gateway drug, like all three of us were in environments where weed was very prominent. And we talked about the extent of what our usage was in. I've only done marijuana and you guys only experimented with mushrooms yet? Let's see. Yeah, yes. I see what you're getting at. However, in my situation, everyone that around me that has done weed has done far worse things on top of we just sounds like you hang around some terrible people. Groups how untrue that is, though, because you are around people that even went to the next step. So it wasn't we that fucking did it. Even though you know, you tried weed the first time to get some as? No, I mean, I was genuinely curious. You bore children out of that night, guaranteed? No, because I met her when I was 19. I didn't have her first kid till I was 25. So no, you've it's a long gestation period or something, right? No, but I I'm not trying to say that we it is a gateway drug. I'm just saying no, no, no, no, I know that. But to just sort of talk about what that's because that statement was something that was told to us like, we grew up with dare conferences. Like, I don't think that's around anymore, right? Dare to say no. Yeah, the fucking lion dude. In school, like we had the big, you know, you meet in the gym, and the police would come in and tell you that weed was a gateway drug and all that shit. So I can dance. And that was, was that what President brought that into place? Was that Hillary's? It was I don't think it was. It was. That was the first lady that that made there? Um, I would say probably because I've never it was definitely around when Clinton was in office. Yeah. And Reagan was the one that did war on drugs, right, Rick? Reaganomics it would have been eight days. It would have been either right. First Bush, no. Nixon, Watergate Nixon Nixon. I think Nixon was war on drugs. I wrote quick, cuz I know I would have thought for sure it was Reagan. Maybe. But I'm thinking now what's next and that did it. I can see his like face like, addressing the nation about cocaine coming in from Colombia and No, all right. It wasn't. Yeah, yeah. President Nixon declared war on drugs June 18 1971. How does it feel to know that you've been getting your ass kicked for over 30 years? We mean, they went in the war on drugs you're not there's a lot of fucking shit with the war on drugs because we put a ton of resources that's how we essentially militarized the police throughout the nation was because of the war on drugs. So you built out these like the rescue. You might be able to correct me or tell me what this actually was. But like SWAT and like these organized division As a police, we're given tons of these actual military weapons to combat war on drugs. And that's when we see a huge influx in the penitentiary system and getting, like minorities filling that shit up because we were being fucking racist. And we'll there's that but then you amp it up about 20 years later with Bill Clinton with the whole three strike laws stuff. Yeah. Drugs and all those laws all that money spent feel go get my car and drive two minutes and probably get some coke I mean, see Yeah. Someone you're going to get the heart I don't know if that's still the case, but it was that you would get the harshest penalty for that. Like now they your sentencing and all that is based on how much you have on you when you're caught. So like if you have like, like a super small amount they're gonna you personally use Yeah, say you're a personal Yeah, but if they catch you with a weight, like a big amount of weight on you. Sure, yeah. But that changes the way you're being saved on a book. It's still for though, like in the 90s. You were getting maximum sentence for everything. True, but that still does. They're still losing. They're still on the street. Countries that had an actual war though. It was literally a fucking taskforce that was put in place to militarize the police militarized and they were trying to clean up the streets. They were not trying to because we were funneling cocaine to the streets like the government was doing. Yeah, I know, to the black areas. Okay, well, listeners can see your air quotes. closing question? Is it part of our nature to want to be enticed by drugs though? Or is it that they exist? So we should take advantage of that? Curiosity? Is this part is that one it's all based on just curiosity. by that? I mean, it's pure curiosity. Then once you take them the endorphin release is what gets you hooked, right? We have pleasure centers built into our body that are able to be tapped into by these drugs, smoking cigarettes, nicotine also taps into that shit. I'm feeling the effects of that now. Having quit since January, and I'm like I'm feeling a lot of fucking weird shit because I don't have that same like I don't know the words for it, but I will suck a dick for a cigarette right now. I actually I don't have any but you guys see me I'm using a vape pen right now.
